A sweet and tangy twist on an otherwise boring bean.
Mustard & Brown Sugar Glazed Green Beans
Yield: 4 servings Prep: 5 minutes Cook: 10 minutes
- 1 lb green beans
- 2 tbsp slivered almonds
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
In a dry frying pan, toast the almonds over medium/high heat for a few minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
Place green beans in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam to your desired tenderness. 3 minutes for a crisper bean, 5 for a tender bean.
Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, mustard, and vinegar and whisk together. Allow mixture to simmer for a minute. Add the green beans and almonds, combine and serve.
